About Call Transfer Services
Telecommunication subscribers across the globe are benefiting from smarter services on the go. Call Transfer features promise to offer subscribers the option to transfer active calls to third parties easily and effortlessly. These solutions work in a similar manner to PBAX or exchange systems. Subscribers can simply dial-in the desired phone number and connect the active call to a third party. Call transfer services work best on modern VoIP enabled devices. Based on simple software led instructions one can easily transfer calls to the desired contact with a simple click of the mouse.
In order to benefit from call transfer features, one must ensure that these are enabled by their service providers and/or that the wireless or VoIP enabled device allows the call transfer feature. These services may be either chargeable or availed free of cost. Service providers must be contacted to get comprehensive details on call transfer activation.

How the Process Works
Call transfer features can work seamlessly on VoIP enabled, wireless, or PSTN networks. The standard procedure is as follows:
• The caller can contact the operator and request for the right party contact
• Operator can then press Flash or * button to place the call on hold
• The number of the right party contact can be keyed-in
• After the called party answers the call, * or Flash button can be pressed again. This completes the call transfer.
• Call transferring is limited to one call at a time unless the call initiator is already in a conference call.

Challenges
• During network peak hours, call transfers are not guaranteed and may be dropped.
• Occasionally, operators are not knowledgeable enough and may fail to complete the call transfer
• Call transfers on VoIP devices may be lost in cases of software or system failure
• In the event that the called party line is busy longer waiting times.

Key Benefits
• Third party contacts can be reached easily with the call transfer feature.
• Operators or colleagues may simply click on-screen or on-device buttons to accomplish call transfer on the go.
• In the event of a large organization or SME, the option to have several contacts with the same name will be available. Reaching the desired extensions can help subscribers in connecting with the correct contact.
• Subscribers will have the option to speak to multiple stake holders in a single call
