Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?
A special VoIP adapter that you connect to your home or office network converts voice traffic into digital data for transmission over the Internet. To that adapter you can connect any regular phone and make calls as usual. Brama Telecom has special equipment that manages all of the calls you make so you can always reach the person you are calling and get an excellent quality of voice. Further, you get numerous additional features that are not offered by traditional phone service providers. The best part: you save a LOT of money while making long distance and international calls!

Our high-speed DSL internet is available in most parts of Ontario and Quebec. The TV service is internet-based and it is therefore available at all locations where our internet service can be enabled. We send you a wireless modem for the internet allowing you to use all your Wi-Fi enabled devices. The TV box may be connected to your television with an HDMI cable (included). It will then connect wirelessly to the internet, allowing you to watch hundreds of great quality channels.
What do I need to be able to use Brama Telecom`s service?
High-speed DSL or Cable internet for the VoIP home-phone service to work. We provide the phone adapter which needs to be connected to your physical phone and internet modem. We provide DSL internet service which can be bundled with our IPTV service. We provide a wireless modem and a TV box which connects wirelessly to the internet, allowing you to enjoy hundreds of great quality channels.
Will I still be able to use internet during a phone call?
Yes. Although our phone and TV services both rely on the internet, all three services can be used at the same time without interrupting one another.
Will I be able to keep my existing phone number if I switch over to Brama Telecom?
Yes. You would have to request the transferring of your number during the signup process. Please note that porting (or transferring of phone number) may take up to 7-15 business days.
What if I move, will I be able to keep my phone number and service?
Yes. Just connect your VoIP adapter to the Internet at your new location, make and receive calls as before. But you MUST change your address in your personal information to use 911 service properly, otherwise when you call 911, emergency will be sent to your old address.

If you have our internet service, please contact us to arrange an internet installation at your new address.

Like the VoIP phone, our TV service is completely portable. Just take our TV box to your new location and wirelessly connect to the internet as always.
If I travel, can I use my IP phone?
Yes, as long as you have access to a high-speed internet connection (minimum 3 MBps)
Will I still be able to use 911 service?
You can use the 911 service only in Canada and USA. If you are going another city for a long period of time and you think that you will require 911 services, you must register the new address.
Can I transfer calls to my cell phone?
Yes, we have a special feature called Follow Me: it allows you to transfer calls from your Brama Telecom phone to any other phone number of your choice.
Can I track my payment, invoice and call history?
You will be given personal access to our website allowing you to manage everything online. Invoices are electronically released on the 5th of each month.
What is a Direct Number? How can I use it?
A Direct Number is a new feature provided by Brama Telecom. Our Direct Number feature will allow your friends, family and business partners to dial your number as if it were local even if you’re a continent away.
For instance: If you buy a number from Paris, all your friends, family and business partners from Paris can call you at no extra cost. You only pay as low as $3.75 per month.
What is a Dial Plan?
For instance: If you buy an additional line with a Paris dial plan, you can call any Paris numbers without dialing the country and area codes. It is like you are calling locally from Paris; you simply save time while dialing!
